Sculpture in white and black porcelain created by Martha Pachon.
This piece is part of the “Beauties or Beasts” series, inspired by the issue of gene mutations. During a trip to Japan, the artist observed the bodies of some beached jellyfish that had been deformed by atomic radiation. New monsters or unprecedented beauty? The artist wonders about the nature of these creatures, reinterpreting them in sculptures that evoke their double nature through the fineness of the material and the threatening look of their sting.
The pieces of the “Beauties or Beasts” series can be exhibited on a flat surface or hung up on the wall; they are perfect to be presented in small groups including pieces of the same series.
