Slipware sculpture in semi-refractory clay, created by Martha Pachon.
It is part of the “Ricci” series, which includes sculptures inspired by the topics of seduction and desire. The intense colours, the sharp spikes, the dark cavity that attracts and threatens reverberate the untouchable beauty of the sea urchin. The neat and regular overlapping tips recalls the plumage of multi-coloured exotic birds, or the scales of a snake.
“Riccio” expresses Martha Pachon’s remarkable sensitivity for colour and composition, as she uses warm and dark shades of colour in contrast with the lively yellow in the middle.
The sculpture can be exhibited on a flat surface or hung up on the wall; it is perfect to be presented on its own or together with other pieces of the same collection.
