Vase in gres stoneware turned on the lathe and glazed. In this piece, Luca Schiavon moves away from the harmonious and contemplative aesthetics that characterise most of his art, and makes an object that features broken rims and an uneven surface.

The tension of the material is felt in the epidermis of the vase, that appears cracked and torn; the same enamel appears to have been lacerated, revealing the bareness of the clay below. Just as the rocks are shaped and sculpted over the centuries by wind and water, mysterious forces appear to have clashed on the surface of this piece, making it as it is.

“Scogliera” confers a dynamic touch and refined solidity to the environment it is hosted in.
